I have just been advised that Phoebus Apollo will be flying their Douglas DC-9 passenger aircraft from Rand Airport to the Klerksdorp airshow this coming Saturday 26 June. The cost is R200 per person for the return flight. The aircraft will depart from Rand at 07h30 and return at 14h00 from Klerksdorp. Passengers wishing to make use of this service should arrive at Phoebus Apollo's Hangar no later than 07h00. Interested? Cheryl and I will be driving to the airshow in my Mercedes Vito departing from Kyalami at 06h30, but we will be staying over in Klerksdorp so that we can enjoy the evening function with the members of the Klerksdorp Pilots Association. Any person wanting a lift should contact me: editor@africanpilot.co.za. We will depart from Klerksdorp at about mid-morning on Sunday 27 June. I have been most impressed at the level of planning and organisation that has gone into this airshow and hope that pilots and aviation enthusiasts will support this mid-winter event.
