Port Elizabeth Airshow
As expected excellent organisation coupled with the friendship of the Port Elizabeth people resulted in an outstand airshow, despite the rainy and windy weather of this Eastern Cape city on Saturday. Unfortunately several displays from Gauteng that were scheduled to take part had to turn back due to the weather and they were missed. However, with the famous Davidsons; father Stu and son Patrick the airshow was an outstanding spectacle for the large crowds that turned out.
Dr Crystal Watson is to be congratulated on an excellent pre-show publicity campaign both on radio and in the media. Charlie Marais (safety director), Rikus Erasmus (flight director), Port Elizabeth ATC, Brian Emmenis and his Capital Sounds team, local Port Elizabeth safety personnel and official from ACSA all worked in harmony to make this a most successful day for the spectators. A full report with pictures from the African Pilot team will be published in the December edition.
