Today 25 July was yet another beautiful sunshine day in Oshkosh with so much happening on the airfield. To understand the sheer size of the Greatest Air Adventure in the world, is very difficult to describe because there is something exciting happening around every corner. Then, on returning to the South African campsite, one is constantly meeting new friends, some from South Africa, others from America and the rest of the world. Although the afternoon airshows share similar themes, there are always new twists to the tale as the show unfolds. Today the six F16s of the Thunderbirds arrived and I understand they will be doing a display tomorrow. Perhaps the highlight of today’s warbirds show was the gathering of at least 18 P51 Mustangs, 10 Douglas DC-3s, Supermarine Spitfire and the delightful DH Mosquito. Please enjoy the pictures. There will be a whole lot more to come over the next few days.
Hello,
My name is Keith Welsh, I’m from the USA about 370 miles South of Oshkosh.
I’m writing to thank whom ever took the beautiful photo of my Quickie N494K.
That is one if not the best photo I’ve ever seen of my airplane.
I believe the photo is from when we that flew in the RAFE (Rutan Aircraft Flying Experience) tribute to the designer Burt Rutan had landed and were taxiing back.
The photo has become my computer wallpaper and looks GREAT!! I expect that I will have a print made of it for my office.
If there were any other photos taken I’d sure like seeing them if it’s no trouble.
Thanks again
